MAYOR VISION

I have consistently put Woolwich residents first during my time on Council, through voting to lower the financial burden, improving our roads and infrastructure, and responding to residents' needs. I will bring my experience and passion to the Mayor role, with actionable plans and strategies to move Woolwich forward and create policies that actually work for you.

For each category below, I have also listed my accomplishments achieved during my time on Council on the Council Record page. 

Responsible Spending

Property Taxes:

  • Keep property taxes low, aiming to match the rate of inflation

  • Reign in tax increases by focusing on key responsibilities and core functions

Find Solutions to Lower the Budget:​

  • Cancel the increase to Mayor salary that was approved by the current Council in April 2026

  • Arrange audit of Township books and accounting

  • Review of Township staff and position for efficiencies and redundancies

  • Back to work policy for Township staff and more governance and oversight of staff overtime hours for greater efficiency and smarter spending of tax payer dollars

  • Phase out paper billing and move to digital payments for Township service costs

  • Zero base budgeting

  • Integrate use of AI technology to streamline processes, better understand township data, and cut costs

  • Advocate to MP's and MPP's to direct more funds to Woolwich

Infrastructure

  • More road repairs throughout Woolwich

  • Use road maintenance software for better management of roadway life cycles and planning for repairs needed in the future

  • Better capital project management and associated timelines

  • Better financial allocation for infrastructure through long-term financial forecasting

  • Live data on Woolwich Township website to track when snowplows have covered your area 

  • Elmira Bypass planning and development

Prioritize People and Businesses

  • Make Woolwich more open for business by cutting red tape and bureaucracy that hinders businesses from operating efficiently in our Township

  • Expand notices for development

  • Encourage a greater emphasis on customer service and a “can do” attitude at the Township office to better support residents

  • Work with developers and industries to create a Breslau retail core including a grocery store

  • Streamline approval processes and timelines for things like permits

  • Support for agriculture, tourism and industry

Healthy Living & Environmental Initiatives

  • Accelerate plans for a new community center (with an arena and pool) in Breslau, and consider naming rights as a form of additional revenue for the project

  • St. Jacobs Arena upgrades

  • Continue working with TWEEC (Township of Woolwich Environmental Engagement Committee) on environmentally-focused initiatives

  • Maintain and protect Woolwich's existing parks, playgrounds and trails and establish more outdoor spaces for residents to enjoy

  • Protect Woolwich farmland

Listen & Respond to Residents

  • Lower the financial burden on residents 

  • More open Townhall meetings and touchpoints with community groups and stakeholders

  • Expand Notices for Development in the community so residents are informed of changes that will impact them

  • Transparent governance

  • Ensure residents can access various types of support within their communities

  • Downtime Elmira revitalization

  • Listen and respond to the needs of residents with compassion and understanding
